Amenities
Exercise, creative arts and other amenities create an engaging environment.
Swimming Pool
A warm, salt-water therapeutic pool offers aquatic programs and recreational swimming that contribute to strength, balance, fall prevention, pain management, and general wellness.
Exercise Room
Professionally led classes and self-directed exercises cater to all fitness levels. We customize a fitness regime for residents with a certified senior fitness instructor.
Library/Reading Room
Books in English Yiddish, Hebrew, French, Spanish, and Hungarian line the shelves. Our library runs two monthly book clubs and residents can also borrow books from the Baycrest library.
Computer Coach
Our computer coach helps residents bridge the digital and technological gap, fostering social interactions and creating access to virtual programs and services.
Creative Arts Studio
Creative Arts Specialists help with ceramics, knitting, crocheting, beading, flower-pressing, and painting, needlework, and more.
Greenhouse
Whether it’s horticultural activities, or to be at one with nature, our greenhouse is an ideal place to relax.
Comfort and Safety
Smoke detectors, fire alarms, and sprinkler systems are installed in all apartments and throughout the facility. Emergency response buttons are placed in key areas of the building. Security cameras are installed throughout the building, and dedicated security officers patrol our campus daily.
Unisex Beauty Salon
Services in the salon include haircuts, blow dries, mini manicures, perms, colour, beard trims, and waxing. Hairstyling services are also available in residents’ suites.
Synagogue (Orthodox and Reform)
Our Baycrest Terraces community has two congregations:
- The Beth Abraham Joseph Congregation serves Orthodox clients, and has services daily and on Jewish holidays.
- The Beth Chavura Congregation serves Reform clients and holds services on Saturday mornings and on special holidays.
There are Conservative synagogue services in the main campus building.
Transportation
TTC Community Bus Service travels to local shopping centres, including Lawrence Plaza Square and Bathurst & Wilson Plaza, and to other destinations such as Humber River Hospital. The bus has a ramp and is accessible to walkers, wheelchairs, and scooters. A TTC bus stops in front of our building.
